Trash and Recycling

Keeping Happyville clean and sustainable is a team effort. Our Public Works Department provides weekly curbside trash and recycling collection, seasonal bulk pickup, and eco-friendly disposal options for residents.

Curbside Collection Schedule

• Trash Pickup: Every Monday

• Recycling Pickup: Every Thursday

Bins must be placed curbside by 7:00 AM on collection day and removed by 8:00 PM.

What Goes Where

Trash (Black Bin):

• Food scraps (non-compostable)

• Plastic bags and wrappers

• Diapers and personal hygiene products

• Broken household items

Recycling (Blue Bin):

• Clean paper and cardboard

• Plastic containers labeled #1–#5

• Glass bottles and jars

• Metal cans and lids

🗑️ Reminder: Do not bag recyclables. Items must be loose in the bin.

Bulk & Yard Waste

• Bulk Item Pickup: First Friday of each month (mattresses, furniture, etc.). Request pickup here.

• Yard Waste: Collected seasonally (April–November). Must be in paper lawn bags or marked containers.

Hazardous Waste & Electronics

Happyville hosts Household Hazardous Waste Days twice a year for safe disposal of:

• Paints, chemicals, batteries

• TVs, computers, and small electronics
